Revision: 11 Readings Logos/Verbum DocumentationReading ListThis reading list is designed to help an intermediate user to read through the documentation provided by Faithlife as well as gain some familiarity with related resources and tools. For individual study it is simply an order to read through the materials at one’s own speed. For group study, it is brokwn into weekly readings. Biblical entities – persons, places, things, and eventsThese elements make up the Bible Knowledgebase, the foundation of the Bible tagging and the Factbook. Week 1 – Basic introductionReading the Help file provides a basic framework for understanding further documentation. Do not expect to understand all the details. Do report any errors you find in this and other resources. Week 2 – Biblical EntitiesThe most fundamental tagging of Biblical texts provides by Faithlife is the tagging of Biblical entities.
Week 3 – More on Biblical PeopleThese resource provide additional information on Biblical People or categorize them in useful ways.
Week 4 – More on Biblical people continuedThese resources provide visualizations related to Biblical people.
Week 5 – More on Biblical People continuedThese resources include additional data in support of searches, primarily lable searches.
A workflow for studying Biblical People is available: It is also useful to familiarize yourself with the Bible dictionaries, especially those that emphasize the Biblical People. Week 15 – Cultural ConceptsThese are a common classification scheme used across a range of socialsciences. The terminology is evangelical/non-denominational; familarity with the terms allows one to “translate” the teerminology to reflect one’s own tradition.
