The apostle Peter stated that; one day is as 1,000 years and 1,000 years is like the Day of the Lord. It is assumed that Peter is prophetically considering each of the 6 days of creation in Genesis, equal to 1,000 years. The work of forming Adam and establishing human government on earth is completed on the sixth day. Then the seventh day looks forward to the promised Sabbath Rest. The seventh Day Sabbath represents the future 1,000 year reign of Messiah Yeshua on earth. So then, there would be 6,000 years from the time of Adam until Messiah Yeshua returns.
