Reading Lists

The Basics

The Reading Lists feature in Logos 4, which is found under the Tools menu, allows users to read articles and books from their library on a given topic. These reading lists are user-created and editable by the Logos community. Each reading list corresponds to a particular topic. There can be a reading list on the Septuagint or Kenosis or any other topic. Any Logos user may edit and contribute to any reading list. Keep in mind that changes you make to a reading list will affect what everyone sees, not just what you see. Reading Lists are community lists, not your own personal lists.

Here are some basic instructions for creating a community reading list.

Search for Your Topic

Type the topic you’re looking for into the search box in the top left hand corner of this page. (You might need to put your search term in quotes to avoid being taken directly to the page with the exact match for your search term.) Click on the appropriate topic to view the page.

Edit an Existing Reading List

Look at the bottom of the page to see if there is already a reading list section. If there is, click “Edit” in the top right hand corner and following the pattern of the existing entries to add additional ones. If there are no items listed yet, look at some other reading lists to get ideas on how to add items and how to organize them.

When you find an article in Logos 4 that you’d like to add to a reading list, click on the book cover icon in the top left hand corner of the resource panel, and then click on “RL” after “Copy location as.” You can then paste this in to the reading list you’re editing.

Create a New Reading List

If there is no reading list section for the topic you’re working on, you can add one by clicking “Edit” in the top right hand corner of the page at Topics.Logos.com and then pasting this at the bottom of the code box.
