Was Messiah Yeshua crucified on Friday and arose from the tomb after sunrise on Sunday? The true biblical account reveals that Yeshua was the Passover Lamb that was sacrificed before the First Day of Unleavened Bread. Passover is also called a preparation day that occurred on Wednesday that year. Thursday was the High Holy Sabbath of Unleavened Bread. Messiah Yeshua died approximately 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday and was buried before sunset. Yeshua said that He would be 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb and then arise to life on the third day. The High Holy Sabbath of Unleavened Bread on Thursday is day 1. ,The preparation Friday is day 2. The weekly Sabbath is day 3. Messiah Yeshua arose from the tomb just before Sabbath sunset on day 3.
Mary Magdalene approached the empty tomb in the dark just after Sabbath sunset. ( Mt 12:40; 16:21; 17:23; 20:18; 19; Jn 2:19; 19:14; 30; 31; Lk 9:22; 23:44; Mt 27:62; 63; Mk 16:1;)
Yeshua arose on the Sabbath just before sunset ( Mt 28:2-4; Jn 20:1-2; 3-4; 5-6; 7-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14; 15-16; 17-18;)
Messiah appeared to Mary Magdalene first that evening (Mk 16:9; 10; 11;)
Later Mary reported Yeshua’s resurrection to the other women and they approached the empty tomb after sunrise on the first day of the week ( Mt 28:11-12; 13-14; 15; Mk 16:1-2; 3-4; 5-6; 7-8; Acts 10:38; 39; 40;)
